Doug Pedersen is the CEO of Careers In Nonprofits and PNP Staffing Group, two of the nation’s leading staffing firms dedicated exclusively to the nonprofit sector. With nearly two decades of experience, Doug partners with Boards and executive leaders to secure high-impact talent that drives mission outcomes, maintains operational stability, and supports organizations through periods of growth and transition.

Under Doug’s leadership, the firm has become a trusted partner to nonprofit organizations across New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, and San Francisco. His team delivers access to high-performing, mission-aligned professionals across executive search, direct-hire, and interim staffing. Clients rely on Doug and his team for speed to hire, access to passive candidate networks, real-time compensation insight, and a consultative approach that reduces hiring risk and strengthens long-term retention.

Doug has led the company’s expansion into a national platform supporting thousands of nonprofit hires. In the past year alone, his team has completed hundreds of placements, helping leadership teams maintain momentum during critical hiring gaps and leadership transitions.

He joined Careers In Nonprofits as Vice President in 2008 after leading regional sales initiatives at Morgan Stanley and Hewlett-Packard. His background also includes experience with Putnam Lovell NBF and service in the U.S. Marine Corps. Doug holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business.

Doug is also a speaker, trainer, and author of Tuna Breath. He lives in Virginia with his wife, Nurys, and their two children.
